In November 2013 the Philippines was again struck by a typhoon. The Philippines as "Yolanda" called Super Typhoon Haiyan reached peak wind speeds of up to 315 km/h. As our Member Esther Wittstock in February 2014 traveled to the disaster area, To get an idea of the situation on the ground, was it the Victory Elementary School special memory, since that is the impact of the disaster were still clearly visible. The circumstances, under which the students were taught currently, deeply shocked. About 175 Children attended school after the disaster. The students were taught in makeshift huts of wood residues and Planning. Sanitary facilities and running water did not exist at this time. The five school buildings were seriously damaged by the typhoon: Two buildings were razed to the foundation, two more were without a roof and inside completely destroyed. A total of three classrooms were rebuilt and fully equipped. Not only the lovingly designed, refurbished facade has been left on the school building. The interior of the classrooms makes the school a happy place visited the villagers. The reconstruction of the kindergarten building is now at the next step, because even the youngest should have a right to undisturbed formation. Since January 2014 take classes of kindergarten children still held in makeshift huts.
